SCI-FI

Welcome to the Future

This novel and collection of short stories are aimed at adults (or older teens) who love to ponder philosophy, technology, society, and the universe. Azimuth began with the question, "What if we merged with quantum technology?" which naturally led to, "What if there was a cyber, mind-melding horse?" That, coupled with a desire to see more feminine/feminist sci-fi, brought Azimuth into being.

Though it has a dystopian edge, Azimuth is ultimately an adventure sci-fi rooted in community, hope, and what it means to be human.

After facing extinction from the misuse of nanotechnology in the early twenty-second century, humanity was saved by the Azimuth: a powerful quantum computer which enables consciousness immortality and rebirth. Connected through brain computer interfaces, the same survivors have lived for three centuries in technological protopias free of conflict, suffering, and the fear of death. Ada Lovell, one of the proud creators of the Azimuth, is confident that this technology is the answer to humanity’s enduring future.

But when an existential threat emerges, unimaginable horrors force her to venture beyond the sanctuary of her city and her convictions. Ada and Buckyball, her bioengineered horse, must race against this menace to ensure humanity’s fate. However, the world outside is not what she’s been led to believe, and what awaits her within the bowels of the Azimuth is beyond her comprehension or control.
