Hi, I’m Elayne!
My writing journey began with one simple question: what if a black unicorn came to whisk me away on a grand adventure right now? That question became an escape, then a passion, and eventually a full-time career.
At the heart of my writing are existential questions, human connection, wonder, and the animal companions who steal our hearts.
Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to win and place in writing contests, earn a Writers of the Future honorable mention, become a San Francisco Writers Conference finalist, and write a script for Zombies, Run!
Art & Illustration
Art was my first creative love. I earned a BFA in Studio Art from California State University, Long Beach (CSULB), and spent years creating murals and illustration. Now the creatures and fantasy worlds I once drew have found their way into my books.
